about

Samsara- the word in Sankrit means- the world, or the world of illusion. My parents wanted  to name me Samantha, but my grandmother Sarah needed a namesake. The combination of my almost name and my actual name combine in the name of my company. SAMSARAH, which eloquently describes my passion for the fascinating physical world.

Let me introduce myself, my name is  Sarah Hope I am a Colorado based artist. My childhood summers were spent on Cape Cod. There I found inspiration in the ocean, and in the intricacy of shells and beach flowers. I was equally fascinated by watching my debutante era grandmother and namesake putting on her jewels for evening dinner parties. She would would tell me a story about each piece she wore Thus I came to realize that jewelry aside from being fascinating and beautiful is also a way to wear your story. Blending my two inspirations, she began making jewelry at the age of twelve. I have acquired new inspirations as I have gathered stories and passions in my own life. My work is inspired by art nouveau, 1960's mod, architecture, and as always nature and its' twisting unpredictability.  My jewelry is sold in top boutiques in Colorado, New Mexico, Massechusetts, and Minneapolis as well as the pages of the spring 2008 Sundance Catalog and its' retail location in Denver.
