A keyhole is the symbol for a door behind, which could be anything one could imagine; Treasures untold, winding paths, mysteries to explore. When worn, what is behind this door is your own precious heart. Thus, wearing a Samsarah Keyhole symbolizes the infinite possibility that you are. A portion of profits go towards creating community gardens.

Samsarah necklaces feature antique keyholes that have been cast and treated with a patina solution to create the ancient green reminiscent of Parisian statues and cathedrals. The first keyholes for this project were found in the Puce Saint Ouen, a Parisian flea market and some date back to the 1700’s.
      As food prices skyrocket, locally grown food will become a necessity. Community gardens provide an answer to many of the issues of sustainability and hunger. They provide a pollinating place for rapidly disappearing bees and a source of healthy and fresh food that is affordable for families. Growing locally is also important for the environment; most of the produce we  eat is  picked unripened leaving the nutrients on the vine, and brought in diesel trucks from an average of 1500 miles away. The mission is to create "victory gardens". Victory over hunger, poor nutrition, and agribusiness.
